Spa-Francorchamps Pits Short
Stavelot, Liège, Belgium
This circuit near Francorchamps, Belgium, runs about 7004 metres through the Ardennes. Its Grand Prix history dates to 1925, and the original road course was reshaped into a permanent track after a major redesign in 1979. On that early layout, Spa hosted the Belgian motorcycle Grand Prix, one of the last major races still run there by 1978, with riders wary of its sustained high speeds and unpredictable weather. Formula One first held the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa in 1950.
