Norisring
Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany
The Norisring is a street circuit in Nuremberg, Germany, that began hosting motorcycle racing in 1947, with its name chosen in 1950 through a competition to win a light motorcycle. Motorcycle racing remained central through 1957, supported by six Nuremberg-based manufacturers, before a slump halted racing in 1958-1959; motorcycle events continued until being abandoned after 1976. The 2.3 km circuit, fixed since 1972, features two hairpins, a chicane, sweeping turns, and short kinks, and later became known primarily for touring car racing.
