Nurburgring Combined
Nurburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
The Nürburgring's combined layout joins the 20.830 km Nordschleife with a section of the modern GP circuit, forming a 25.378 km track through the Eifel mountains. The venue's motorcycle history began on 18 June 1927, when the first races at the original Nürburgring were for motorcycles and sidecars, won by Toni Ulmen on a 350cc Velocette. Motorcycle Grands Prix later ran mainly on the shorter Südschleife, with Hockenheimring and the Solitudering becoming Germany's main bike GP venues; the last motorcycle Grand Prix at the old Nürburgring was held in 1980 before moving permanently to Hockenheim.
