Jarama
San Sebastian de los Reyes, Madrid, Spain
Jarama, near Madrid, was designed by John Hugenholtz, who also created Suzuka, and built by Alessandro Rocci in 1967. The 3.850 km circuit has a short main straight and mostly tight, twisty corners, making overtaking difficult. It hosted the Spanish motorcycle Grand Prix 15 times between 1969 and 1988, plus the European, FIM, Madrid and Portuguese motorcycle Grands Prix, Sidecar World Championship rounds, and the Superbike World Championship in 1991 and 1992. Jarama first held the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix in 1968.
