Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
West Kingsdown, Kent, United Kingdom
The Indy Circuit is Brands Hatch's shorter layout, measuring 1.198 mi (1.928 km) and lying entirely within the venue's natural amphitheatre, giving spectators near full-lap visibility from almost any vantage point. The site began as a grasstrack motorcycle circuit on farmland; within a few years of an initial 1926 race, motorcyclists had laid out a three-quarter-mile anti-clockwise track, later tarmacked. Brands Hatch first hosted the British Grand Prix in 1964. The venue continues to host many British and international events, though higher-profile bike series more often use the longer Grand Prix layout.
