Weybridge, Surrey, United Kingdom
Brooklands opened in 1907 near Weybridge, Surrey, as the world's first purpose-built banked motor racing circuit, designed by Colonel Capel Lofft Holden for Hugh Locke King. In 1912, George E. Stanley set a one-hour endurance record there on a 350cc Singer motorcycle, becoming the first rider to cover over 60 miles in an hour. The track was a banked concrete oval with a bisecting finishing straight. Racing at Brooklands ended in 1939.
