Donington Park National
Castle Donington, Leicestershire, United Kingdom
Donington Park's National circuit is the original 3.149 km layout built before the 1985 Melbourne Loop extension created for Grand Prix motorcycle racing. Founded in 1931 by former Isle of Man TT rider Fred Craner, the venue staged its first motorcycle race that year and returned to bike racing in 1977 after wartime closure. The full Grand Prix layout hosted the British motorcycle Grand Prix from 1987 to 2009, while the shorter National layout is used for most non-Grand Prix events. Donington has also held British Superbike Championship rounds and, in Formula One, staged the 1993 European Grand Prix.
