Silverstone Circuit hosts the British round of MotoGP. Laid out in 1948 by James Brown on the runways and perimeter roads of the former RAF Silverstone bomber airfield, the track has changed configuration over the decades. Motorcycles continued racing without the Woodcote chicane, introduced in 1975 for cars, until 1986. Silverstone first hosted the British Grand Prix in 1948.
