Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course opened in 1962 near Lexington, Ohio, and has long hosted motorcycle racing, including the AMA Superbike Championship and the Honda Super Cycle Weekend (1983-2014), plus MotoAmerica's Superbikes at Mid-Ohio each August and AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. Bikes typically run the 15-turn, 2.40-mile (3.86 km) layout with the chicane, crossing rolling terrain and elevation changes including the downhill Thunder Valley section. A dedicated motorcycle short course was added in 2006. The circuit also hosts IndyCar and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship events.
